A commission begins with an idea, a particular place, person, memory, palette or subject, and becomes a one-of-one original painting through Seth’s interpretation.

Each commission is a collaboration. We’ll begin by talking about what you’re drawn to, where the work will live and what you hope it will evoke. From there, Seth develops the composition in his own visual language.

The result is something uniquely yours—and unmistakably Seth.

THE PROCESS

1. BEGIN WITH A CONVERSATION

Tell us what you have in mind. We’ll discuss subject, scale, palette, placement and timing, along with examples of Seth’s work that speak to the direction you’re considering.

Once the scope is established, we’ll provide the details of the commission in writing. A 50% deposit begins the work.

2. DEVELOPING THE WORK

Each painting evolves through the creative process. Rather than reproducing an existing work or following a predetermined rendering, Seth interprets the agreed direction through his own visual language.

The individuality of the finished piece is part of what makes it an original.

3. COMPLETION & DELIVERY

When the work is complete, we’ll share final photographs and coordinate the remaining balance, applicable taxes and delivery.

Packing, shipping, specialty transport and delivery, when required, are quoted separately based on the finished work and destination. For larger works and select locations, local or white-glove delivery can also be arranged.
